Managing Your Time

I designed this scenario-based eLearning concept project for hybrid and remote workers to build stronger time management practices in their virtual working environments.

Overview

Audience: Hybrid and remote workers

Responsibilities: Instructional Design, eLearning Development, Visual Design, Storyboarding, Action Mapping, Prototyping

Tools Used: Articulate Storyline 360, Figma, MindMeister, Canva, Google Suite

The Problem

PEAK Leadership (a fictitious client for this concept project) has noticed that their customers have expressed a need for training remote workers on time management. They want to increase productivity and accountability by improving how employees use tools such as calendars, messaging apps, video meetings, online workspaces, etc. They also want to promote balance for their virtual workers.

The Solution

I created a scenario-based eLearning course to help employees build stronger time management practices in their remote and/or hybrid working environments. Throughout the course, employees would practice managing time effectively by time blocking, creating work life balance, and leveraging virtual tools.

Action Mapping

I developed this action map and established the overall goal of this project. I then identified the actions required to help remote workers manage their time efficiently.

Storyboard

After action mapping, I created a text-based storyboard that incorporated these key actions.

I framed the scenario as a remote worker who has just started a new job. Throughout the course, the learner practices making decisions and taking steps to better manage time.

Visual Mockups

After storyboarding, I used the given color scheme, fonts, and logos to guide the visual aspect of the course. I maintained a consistent visual style for elements, text boxes, and shapes.

I used Canva to create a polished and immersive feel throughout the slides. Then, it was time to recreate everything in Articulate Storyline 360 to further refine the elements and implement interactivity.

Full Development

The full development of the scenario in Articulate Storyline 360 was straightforward and efficient now that all elements had been created and a framework for each consequence was established.
